Manage Central Point Access
To allow configuration changes, ensure the user assigned to the CPConfiguratorPool application pool in IIS has full permissions on the Central Point shared folder—including both sharing and security (NTFS) access levels.
By following these steps, you guarantee that the Central Point Configurator can successfully read and write configuration changes to the Central Point shared folder.
Update application pool identiry
- Open IIS Manager.
Press the Windows key + R, typeinetmgr, and press Enter. - Select Application Pools in the left panel.
- Right-click CPConfiguratorPool and choose Advanced Settings.
- Under the Process Model section, find the Identity property. Click the ellipsis (…) button next to it.
- Set the identity to the user account that needs access:
- Choose Custom account and enter the correct username and password.
- Click Ok to save your changes.
Verify folder permissions
- Navigate to the Central Point shared folder in File Explorer.
- Right-click the folder and select Properties.
- Review the Sharing tab and ensure the application pool user is listed with full access.
- Switch to the Security tab and confirm the NTFS permissions also grant full control to the application pool user.
