Excel Add-in

The Excel Add-in for Nectari brings advanced reporting and analytics directly to Microsoft Excel, allowing you to build live or offline reports based on Nectari Data Models. Install the Add-in on each Windows workstation where users need Excel integration. Connect the Add-in to the Nectari Server and Central Point to access live summary data, or work offline after your first successful connection.

For reliability, always install an Excel Add-in version that matches your Nectari Server version. Using mismatched versions may cause errors or reporting inconsistencies.

The Excel Add-in is only supported on Windows and is not compatible with Office or Excel versions installed from the Microsoft Store.

Server requirements​

Before you install the Nectari Excel Add-in, make sure each user’s workstation meets these requirements:

  • Microsoft Excel 2016 or higher is required.
  • Central point must be installed and accessible.
  • Nectari Server must be installed and running.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 must be present for full compatibility, especially if upgrading from Nectari version 8.2.7.X or earlier. If not installed, download it here. The Add-in installer will install it automatically if needed. Restart your workstation if prompted after installation.

The Add-in needs to connect to both Central Point and the Nectari Web Server on first use. After initial connection, offline work is available.

System verification​

Before installing, verify the version of Windows and Microsoft Office on your workstation.

Verify your Windows version​

  1. Press Windows key and type System, then select System from the search results.
  2. In the Device specifications section, look for System type.
    This will indicate if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Check your Microsoft Office version​

  1. Start Excel.
  2. Select the File tab, then click Account.
  3. Select About Excel to see your Office version and bitness.
