Set Up OLAP Cube for SQL Server
The OLAP Database, known as Nectari Cube, stores OLAP cubes extracted from your data sources to support reporting and analytics. Use the dedicated installer to create this database on a Microsoft SQL Server.
To install Nectari, locate your installation folder and run either Nectari OLAP For SQL Server.exe or SEI OLAP For SQL Server.exe depending on the product name in your environment. Then follow the steps below for your setup.

This procedure is required only when installing Nectari on Microsoft SQL Server. If you are using Oracle, skip this step.
Installation steps
- Run the Nectari/SEI OLAP For SQL Server setup and click Next.
- Accept the License Agreement by selecting I accept the terms in the license agreement, then click Next.
- On the Database Server screen, select the SQL Server where you want to install the NectariCube database.
- Enter the connection information for your SQL Server instance.
- Decide which collation to use for the new database:
- To use the default server collation, leave Use the Server Collation selected.
- To specify a different collation, clear the checkbox and enter the desired collation manually.
- If you are hosting the OLAP cube on a remote SQL Server instance (for example, with RDS), select The Cube will be hosted by an SQL Server Remote Instance.
When this option is selected, you cannot change the database file location. - On the Database Files Folders screen, change the location of the OLAP Cube database files if needed, then click Next.
- Click Install to start the process.
- Click Finish once the installation is done.
