Reporting Currency
The Sage 300 template allows you to define a reporting currency, enabling you to consolidate values into a single currency across all reports—ideal for group-level or multi-national reporting.
Benefits of reporting currency
- Consolidating values across multiple entities: Produce reports that combine data from companies using different base currencies.
- Reporting in a non-local currency: Present financial results in a currency other than the local operating currency.
- Comparing values across currencies: Summarize or compare financial results across companies with different functional currencies.
Set up the reporting currency
Configure the global variable
- In the navigation panel, select the gear icon to open the Administration section.
- Go to Global Variables.
- Search for
@@YCURRPT. - Click the pencil next to it to open the Reporting Currency dialog.
- In the Script box, enter your reporting currency code (e.g., 'USD' or 'EUR').
- Click Update to save the changes.
Generate currency rate lines
- Go to the Data Models and Views tab.
- In Sage 300, expand the Common Data > Configuration.
- Righ-click the Currency Rates data model and select Execute Info Pages.
- In Generate Lines for Currency Rates, enter the required information. Use the prompt icon as needed to select values.
- Click Generate to create the data entry lines and close the dialog.
- Expand the Currency Rates data model and open the Currency Rates worksheet. The worksheet is now populated with the currency codes.
- Expand the transaction currency and month you want to edit.
- Enter the appropriate exchange rate for each date.
The worksheet auto-saves. To apply a rate across a group or month, enter the value at the group level. - (Optional) Calculate inverse rates based on the values you entered.
For example, after entering CAD to USD rates, click Generate at the bottom of the info page to calculate USD to CAD rates automatically.
