In addition to views, you can add formatted text elements to provide titles, section headers, or descriptions on your dashboard.
When to use a text panel
- Adding context: Understand the data by describing the purpose or highlights of a dashboard.
- Structuring content: Organize into logical sections by inserting headings or dividers.
- Guiding actions: Instruct users how to interact with the dashboard or interpret visualizations.
Add a text panel
- In the Toolbar panel, choose Edit Dashboard.
- Select Miscellaneous Controls.
- Drag the Text Panel control onto the dashboard. A gray highlight appears to show possible placement sections.
- (Optional) To resize the text panel, drag its sides or corners.
- Select the settings icon to open the Text Panel settings.
- At a minimum, add a title in the Text box. You can further customize the panel by changing alignment, adjusting size, or adding color.
- In the Toolbar panel, select Save or Save As to save your changes.
