Save and Save As Options
The Save and Save As options let you save your current view or create a copy under a different ID. You can choose to save structural changes, the data itself, or both—while customizing options such as the view name, access permissions, and whether filters should be applied when opening.
Save a visualization
- Open the view you want to save.
- In the Toolbar panel, click the save icon and select Save.
- In the dialog, fill out the necessary fields based on your needs.
- Click Confirm to save the view. The structure of the view and any unsaved changes will be preserved.
note
You cannot overwrite a document you did not originally create.
Save a visualization as a new file
- Open the view you want to save as a new file.
- In the Toolbar panel, click the save icon and select Save As.
- In the dialog, fill out the necessary fields based on your needs.
- Click Confirm to save the new view with the specified settings.
Save and Save As properties
The Save and Save As dialogs are identical to the Properties dialogs of a visualization. The main difference is that the save functions also retain any changes made to the visualization itself, in addition to its properties.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Description | The name of the view displayed in the Navigation Panel. This is the minimum required field when saving. Use the Translation icon to translate the name into different languages. |
| Publish | Lets you define who can view and edit the visualization within their Navigation Panel. When selected, the Select group to publish to field appears, and you can choose a group from the drop-down list. |
| Publish to Everyone | Makes the visualization available to all users. |
| Lock View Definition | Locks the visualization so only the owner or users with Administrator permissions can modify it. Others can create a copy with their changes but cannot overwrite the original. |
| Owner | Indicates the user profile that owns the view and has full access to it. |
| Load all data on open | By default, detailed-level data is only retrieved when drilling down into the view. If enabled, this setting fetches all data—including detailed levels—immediately when the view opens. This may increase the loading time. |
| On Open | Lets you display a prompt or a selection page before loading the visualization:

| View | Controls how the view is saved:
