Clear Cache
NecAccess formulas uses a caching system to improve performance when accessing similar data in the Data Model. Along with process data, the Add-in also caches security settings defined within the Nectari environment.
The Clear Cache feature lets you manually remove locally stored data to ensure your sheet always reflects the latest information from the connected source. This is especially useful when outdated or inconsistent cache data affects report accurary or performance.
When to clear cache
- Making changes to views, dimensions, or security: Clear the cache to load the latest updates.
- Forcing a data refresh: Bypass the cache and retrieve current data from the server.
- Seeing unexpected results: Reset the cache to eliminate inconsistencies in your reports.
Clear the cache
- In the Add-ins tab, select Clear Cache.
- Choose Cache Data Model Data or Cache Security Data.
- If you select Cache Data Model Data, choose a Reference to clear or select All.
- (Optional) Select Reporting Tree to clear the cache nodes used in Reporting Tree filters.
- (Optional) Select Refresh Excel Workbook to refresh the sheet with the most recent data after clearing the cache.
- Click OK.
Clear Cache options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Cached Data Model Data | Clears cached data related to the selected data model reference. |
| Cached Security Data | Clears cached security settings, such as data model authorization, field security levels. |
| Reporting Tree | Clears cached nodes used in Reporting Tree filters. |
| Refresh Excel Workbook | Refreshes the Excel workbook automatically after clearing the cache. |
Notes on Reporting Tree
If you use the Reporting Tree:
- At the Filter level, all filter nodes and groups share the same cache and are automatically refreshed.
- A layer of caching improves formula refresh times without requiring a full structure refresh when only partial data is needed.
