Sample Mode

The Sample Mode feature allows you to design and modify visualizations without fully loading all the data. Instead, it retrieves a sample set of data, improving responsiveness and performance.

This feature is available for Views, Dashboards, and Reports.

When to use the Sample Mode

  • Customizing visualization: Create or modify a visualization without needing the full dataset immediately.
  • Enhancing performance: Improve responsiveness while adjusting layouts, formulas, or settings by reducing data load.
  • Handling large datasets: Useful when working with extensive datasets where full data loading might slow down the process.
  • Development environment: Ideal in development environments or sandboxes where testing is focused on view configurations rather than full data analysis.

Open a visualization in Sample Mode

  1. Locate the view, dashboard, or report you want to view in sample mode.
  2. Select Open in Sample Mode from the context menu.
  3. The visualization will open with a small portion of data.
  4. A banner at the top of the visualization will indicate that you are in Sample Mode.

Enable Sample Mode in the current visualization
