Budgets for Cubes
Budgets in Nectari OLAP cubes enable you to plan, compare, and analyze financial targets alongside your actual results. By configuring budgets, you can forecast performance, set financial goals, and monitor how your organization is tracking against those objectives across multiple versions and cubes.
Benefits of using budgets in OLAP cubes

- Tracking performance: Compare actual results to budget for variance analysis in dashboards and reports.
- Adapting targets: Adjust budget data as business conditions change, ensuring that your analytic cubes remain aligned with your current business strategy.
Configure a budget
- In the navigation panel, select Data Models and Views.
- Expand OLAP Cube, then Budget for Finance Cube.
- Open the Budget Configuration worksheet.
- In the Cube and Version columns, enter or update your budget values. Use the prompt icon to search for specific values.
Cells with entered values turn green. - In the Toolbar panel, select Save or Save As to save your changes.
Refresh the X3 Financial Cube
If the X3 Financial Cube is already loaded, you must refresh it to apply your budget changes.
- In the navigation panel, click the gear icon to open the Administration section.
- On the left panel, click OLAP Manager. This opens the OLAP Manager in a new window.
- Select X3 Financial Cube from the list. The Cube Details dialog opens on the right.
- In the Options panel, click the Manage icon.
- In the Action dropdown list, select Refresh.
- Select the environment.
- Click Confirm.
- Close the OLAP Manager window when complete.
